All About Birding
Bird watching or birding for short, has been a pastime for millions of people for over a hundred years, with the term bird watching starting to be used in 1901. Bird watching or birding is the study of birds in their natural habitats. Bird watchers will watch birds either with the naked eye or through binoculars.
By bird watching, birders can observe all types of birds interact with the environment. By observing birds you can watch them live in the outside world, interact with other birds and watch how they protect themselves from natural enemies. With thousands of types of birds in the world, one of the common tasks of birding is the identification of the types of birds. By identifying the birds sometimes birders are able to discover birds that venture out of their natural habitat.
While bird watching is primarily done in person, technology has allowed birders the ability to change their habits. Now, not only can birdwatchers view birds in person, but they are able to do virtual birding. With webcams and other websites showing birds living, birders can observe their subjects without being subjected to the changes outside.
